Volunteer FAQs

Is there a minimum volunteer commitment?
A few hours of your time is all we need to make the Hard Hat Walk and Lights On Festival spectacular. We’ll take your help if your available for a few hours, or all day long!

What should I wear when I volunteer?
All volunteers will be provided with a volunteer shirt to wear on the day of the event. Volunteers will be stationed outdoors, some in covered areas, some not, so please dress according to the weather for the day. Please wear sunscreen and bring a hat as you will be outside! You will want to wear comfortable shoes and may want to bring a sweater for the evening in case it gets chilly.

Is parking available for volunteers on the day of the event?
Parking will be available for volunteers, however we encourage everyone to utilize public transportation when possible. Information regarding available event assignments and parking will be sent to volunteers in early August.

May I bring my child with me to volunteer?
We ask that all volunteers be 16 years of age or older. If you’re child is of age, and would like to participate as a volunteer, please sign him/her up!

Will I receive training prior to my volunteer commitment?
Yes. Volunteer training times will be communicated to all volunteers in August.
